Volunteers, donors make dinner a success

American Legion Post 95 Christmas Day Dinner 2017 is now in the books as another successful day enjoyed by so many. Between those at the Legion and deliveries, about 185 dinners were served and we thank everyone for coming and receiving a dinner — that’s what it’s all about.

The Washington Post gave Democrats four Pinocchios for saying Republican tax cuts result in tax increases of $800. The Tax Policy Center said 80 percent of taxpayers would get a tax cut starting next year.

Community effort feeds local families

To the editor, 
On Dec. 16, many in the community turned out to help students in Janesville through our Delivering Bags of Hope food delivery event. The goal was to provide 350 families and 50 senior citizens much-needed food and groceries over the holiday season and we surpassed that goal. The event was a great success and we hope everyone was inspired and filled with hope as much as we were.
