Join the movement to prevent suicide

As part of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Walworth County Out of the Darkness Walk, I will be walking on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Walworth County Fairgrounds to draw attention to the importance of suicide prevention. I won’t be walking alone. I will be joined by many who share my dedication. Last year, more than 550 Out of the Darkness walks took place in communities and on campuses across the United States, attended by a quarter of a million dedicated people who share my passion. Our movement is growing.

August fails to stand up in face of sexism, racism

(State Rep.) Tyler August has not exhibited leadership when it comes to the treatment of women and minorities in the state Assembly. As speaker pro tem of the Assembly, he should have encouraged Rep. Rob Brooks to resign from his seat after Brooks’ thoughtless sexist comments about two women representatives last July. (Brooks) also refused to buy drinks for another colleague because she was Hispanic. ...
