JANESVILLE — With the weather already proving to be plenty winter like, some budget-friendly indoor fun is in order.
Here’s a few ideas of free or low-cost local happenings:
• Holiday Music Recital, noon to 3 p.m. today, Nov. 17, at Basics Cooperative, 1711 Lodge Drive, Janesville. Students of local music teacher Fran Peyer show off their vocal and instrumental skills at this free event.
• Movie Night: “Nightmare Before Christmas,” 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at Blackhawk Technical College, 6004 S. County Highway G, Janesville. Free admission; concessions available to purchase.
• Used book sale, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22 and Nov. 23, at Hedberg Public Library, 316 S. Main St., Janesville. The sale is open noon to 4:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Most items are $1 or less and proceeds benefit library programs and services.
