Museum hosts free exhibition of abstract paintings

“Bold Abstractions: Paintings from the Thoma Collection” is on view through Jan. 26 at Rockford Art Museum, located inside the Riverfront Museum Park building at 711 N. Main St. in Rockford.
Admission to the exhibit is free, with support from the Carl & Marilynn Thoma Art Foundation. The exhibit explores new forms of abstract painting from the 1960s and includes pieces by 33 artists from around the world, according to a news release. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Thursdays, when the museum is open until 7 p.m. Go to rockfordartmuseum.org for more information.
