Written by Staff Writer
JANESVILLE — The 49th annual Rock, Gem & Mineral Show will be held Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and March 24, at the Craig Center on the Rock County Fairgrounds in Janesville. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 23 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 24.
The educational, family-friendly event has children’s activities including a fish pond, scavenger hunt and rock crafts.

“Members will be displaying interesting, unusual rock and mineral specimens as well as demonstrations of gem faceting, geode splitting and a huge fluorescent mineral display,” according to a news release.

There will be door prizes, speakers and a roaming “rock wizard” to answer any questions that visitors might have about rocks and fossils. Eleven dealers will display and sell minerals, fossils, gemstones and jewelry from around the world.
