Beware: ‘The Addams Family’ is moving in

Written by Staff Writer

ELKHORN — The weird and wonderful Gomez and Morticia Addams family takes center stage in Elkhorn as The Lakeland Players present the musical comedy “The Addams Family.”

The production runs Fridays through Sundays, Oct. 13 through Oct. 15, and Oct. 20 through Oct. 22, at the Walworth County Performing Arts Center, 15 W. Walworth St. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees are at 3 p.m.

“With a soft spot for all things macabre and disgusting, Gomez is horrified to learn that his teenage daughter, Wednesday, is engaged to marry into a family quite unlike their own,” according to a Lakeland Players news release. “Before sealing the deal, the young lovers want to prove their families can meet and get along, which just happens to be arranged for the one evening each year when all of the Addams family ancestors are raised from the dead.

“This might not be ground-breaking theater, but it is jam-packed with scary sets, ghoulish gags, terrifying treats and everything else you’d expect from an evening in a haunted house.”

The musical is directed by Pamela Danovich, choreographed by Cece Danovich and produced by Linda Kouzes, all of Delavan, with Megan Wilson of Pleasant Prairie as musical director.

Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at the Elkhorn Area Chamber of Commerce, 203 E. Walworth St., by calling 262-728-5578 or online at
