Ominous ’60s song could prove prophetic

Written by Staff Writer

To the editor,
Well, the Foxconn deal is a go! Zager and Evans might be able to make a comeback if they’re still alive because they had the foresight to make some predictions in 1969 that might ring true today. In the year 2525 if man is still alive, if woman can survive, that’s when they’ll finally see Foxconn’s factory thrive. It can’t be much of a deal when the Koch brothers opposed it. If there’s more legislators and a governor soon tooling around Madison driving Rolls-Royces and smoking much more expensive cigars than before, that’s when we’ll know just where that $3 billion went ...

Donald Trump and company are carving up the national parks, throwing the pieces to the energy conglomerates. Zager and Evans said that we might have taken everything this old earth can give by 9595 if we’re still alive.

China is the go-to manufacturer of solar panels because the current U.S. leadership can’t admit that there’s any such thing as global warming. It’s suspected that the reason the obvious can’t be acknowledged is because fossil fuels are probably responsible for one-third of the stock market.

Pope Francis says it’s time to get serious about climate change. If somebody is going to put the Koch brothers before God, he might bounce them out on their ear. Florida and Houston are up to their eyeballs in water, which ought to say something to those willing to listen.
